Summary
This tutorial shows you how to create, version, preview, update statuses, and send professional proposals directly from a Deal in BuilderPal’s Clients (CRM).
Prerequisites
Admin (GC), Admin (SUB), Team Business Manager, or Team Project Manager role
An existing Deal already created in the Client Dashboard
Steps
Open the Deal — From the Client Dashboard, click the deal card you want to work on to open its detail view.
Go to the Proposals tab — Inside the deal detail view, click the Proposals tab to see all existing proposals and versions.
Create a new proposal or version — Click New Proposal (or Create Version if you want a revised version of an existing proposal).
Build or edit the proposal — Add or update line items using cost codes, quantities, unit prices, markups, and any notes or description.
Preview the proposal — Click the Preview button to see exactly what the client will receive before sending.
Update status and send — Change the proposal status (e.g., Draft to Sent) and click Send to deliver it through the Client Portal.
Confirmation
You’ll know it worked when the proposal appears in the Proposals tab with the correct version number and updated status, and the client receives an email notification giving them access to view the proposal (and all previous versions) in their secure Client Portal.
FAQ
Q: How do I create multiple versions of the same proposal?
Inside the Proposals tab, click Create Version — each version is saved separately so you can track changes over time.
Q: What proposal statuses are available?
Typical statuses include Draft, Sent, Viewed, Negotiating, and Accepted (the system can auto-update some statuses when the client interacts).
Q: Can clients see every version of a proposal?
Yes — all versions are visible to the client in their Client Portal so they can review the full history.
Q: How do I preview what the client will see?
Use the Preview button inside any proposal — it shows the exact formatted view the client will receive.
Q: What happens when a client accepts a proposal?
The status changes to Accepted and you can then mark the entire Deal as Won to automatically convert it into a live Project.
