Create and Manage Proposals in a Deal
Summary
This tutorial covers how to create, preview, version, update statuses, and send proposals directly from a Deal in BuilderPal’s Clients (CRM) so you can keep every version organized and move deals smoothly through the pipeline.
Steps
Open the Deal — From the Client Dashboard, click the deal card you want to work on to open its detail view.
Go to the Proposals tab — In the deal detail view, click the Proposals tab (or section) to see all existing proposals and versions.
Create a new proposal or version — Click New Proposal (or Create Version) to start a fresh proposal or add a new version of an existing one.
Build or edit the proposal — Add or modify line items, cost codes, quantities, markups, and notes. Use the preview button at any time to see exactly what the client will receive.
Set status and send — Change the proposal status (Draft → Sent) and click Send to deliver it through the Client Portal (the client receives an email notification).
Confirmation
You’ll know it worked when the new proposal appears in the Proposals tab with its correct status and version number, and the client can view it immediately in their secure Client Portal.
FAQ
Q: How do I create multiple versions of the same proposal?
Inside the deal’s Proposals tab, click Create Version — each version is saved separately so you can compare changes or revert if needed.
Q: What are the possible proposal statuses?
Common statuses are Draft, Sent, Viewed, Negotiating, and Accepted — you can update them manually or the system updates them automatically when the client interacts.
Q: Can the client see every version?
Yes — clients see all proposal versions in their Client Portal so they can review the full history and latest changes.
Q: How do I preview a proposal before sending?
Click the Preview button inside any proposal — it shows the exact PDF or formatted view the client will receive.
Q: What happens when a client accepts a proposal?
The proposal status changes to Accepted, and you can then mark the entire Deal as Won to convert it into a live Project.
