Summary
This tutorial shows you how to invite clients to their secure Client Portal from a Deal, revoke or unshare access when needed, and understand the Viewed / Not Viewed indicators so you can track engagement and keep your pipeline moving.
Steps
Open the Deal — From the Client Dashboard, click the deal card you want to work on to open its detail view.
Create a New Lead — From the Client Dashboard, tap the + button and select either an existing contact or create a new contact. Fill out the contractor information, choose the project type, enter the project address and lead details, then tap Create to add the lead to the Client Dashboard. Once the lead is created, BuilderPal will automatically send a portal invitation to the contractor using the email entered in the contact details.
Resend invitation if required — If the client never received or lost the email, click Unshare and Resend the Invitation from the same section.
Confirmation
You’ll know it worked when:
The contractor receives the invitation email and can log into their secure Client Portal.
The status indicator updates to Viewed once the client opens the portal or proposal.
If you revoked access, the Revoked status appears and the client can no longer log in.
FAQ
Q: How does the client receive the invitation?
They get an automatic email from BuilderPal with a secure link to create their password and access the Client Portal.
Q: What does “Viewed” vs “Not Viewed” mean?
“Viewed” means the client has opened the portal or the specific proposal. “Not Viewed” means they have not yet opened it — useful for follow-up reminders.
Q: Can I revoke access without deleting the deal? Yes — revoking access only removes the user login to the portal. The deal and all internal data remain intact for your team.
Q: Why might a client say they never received the invitation?
Check spam/junk folders, confirm the email address is correct, or resend the invitation directly from the deal.
